Registration and Fees

REGISTRATION

Registration for Term I opens in August, and is ongoing through January.  

Registration for Term II opens in December, and is ongoing through February. 

Registration for Summer Term opens in May and is ongoing through July.

Fees for will be prorated for late-term registrants.

FEES AND PAYMENTS

Terms I and II each run 18 weeks of paid classes, with one week of free classes to assist in the makeup of classes cancelled due to inclement weather, etc.

  

Term I:  Classes run September 9th through February 1st

Term II: Classes run February 3rd through June 21st

Gala Rehearsal and Performance Week runs June 14th to 21st. Dancers receive the Rehearsal Week schedule by June 1st, and attend rehearsals in lieu of class.  

Term Schedule:

For ease of planning, The Conservatory adheres to the schedule of local school boards.  No classes with be held statutory holidays or school vacation breaks.  Classes will run through Sunday the week prior to the December/January Break and March Break.  Regularly scheduled classes will take place on P.A. days.

Summer Term:  Classes run from the second week in July for either 4 or 6-week terms; dates are announced in the spring.

General Fee Structure for Term Classes:  

Detailed fee schedules are available upon request and to registered account holders in our Community Portal.  All fees are subject 13% HST.

  • $11.75  per 30-minute class

  • $14.65   per 45-minute class

  • $17.55  per 1-hour class

  • $26.35  per 1.5-hour class

  • $75.00 per 1-hour private lesson

Discounts:  Any family enrolled in more than 3 hours of class per week (on a term basis, not including drop-ins or dance cards) receives a discount across family members.  Discounts are calculated in a sliding scale increasing from 2% to 16% for every hour of weekly class enrolment.  Any family enrolled in 10 or more hours of class per week pays a maximum tuition fee of $146.20 per week. 

Dance Cards:  $96 plus HST for 8, 30-minute classes; $160 plus HST for 8, 60-minute classes; $240 plus HST for 8, 90-minute classes.  Dance cards are valid for any adult classes during the season that they are purchased and are non-refundable. Cards purchased during the Summer Term will be continue to be valid through Term I. 

Non-Refundable Registration Fee:  $25.00 per student; max of 3 per family.

Performance Fee (Term II):  $50.00 per student towards production costs.

Billing:  Fees for term classes will be billed monthly (5 equal payments for Terms I and Term II; 1 payment for Summer Term).  Fees are due the 1st of the month; should you require alternate arrangements, please inquire.

Please note: While fees are billed monthly, registration for term classes is a financial commitment for the entire term.  Refunds are not given for missed classes.  Students who withdraw during the term are responsible for tuition unless withdrawing for documented medical reasons (see below).

Fees paid on-line via PayPal will be subject to a 3.5% convenience fee, as we are charged by PayPal.  E-transfers are not subject to convenience fees.

Forms of Payment:  The Conservatory accepts cash, cheques, e-transfer, credit card (on-line) and debit (on-line) payments.  E-transfer, credit card (via PayPal) and debit (via PayPal) payments may be made to: administration@the--conservatory.com.  Please make cheques payable to ConCorpsDance.

NSF Policy: Cheques declared Non-Sufficient Funds will be charged a $25 fee.

Late Fees:  Unpaid fees are charged a 10% late fee on the 25th of each month.

Credits: Credits on account must be used up within one calendar year. Inactive accounts will be closed after one year for accounting purposes, unless there is communication from the account holder.

Performance Fee Policy:  All fees must be paid in full, current through May to permit participation in the year-end performance.

Damage Fee Policy:  Costumes/props furnished by The Conservatory remain the property of The Conservatory. Failure to return costumes or props in the condition that they were received will result in repair and/or replacement fees.

Registration Fee Policy:  Balances must be paid in full to permit registration.

Class Cancellation Policy:  In the event of inclement weather or conditions that prevent access to, or safe usage of, facilities; we will strive to notify families by 12:00 p.m. on weekdays, and by 10:00 p.m. the Friday prior to Saturday classes. Missed classes are not refunded, but dancers are welcome to take a make-up class at the appropriate level. Please note that during Term II, dancers have substantial opportunity to make up missed class hours during Rehearsal Week.

Refund Policy:  Refunds will only be given in the event of medical concerns that prevent safe participation, and must be accompanied by a note from a licensed physician.  For private lessons, 24 hours notice of cancellation is required.  Private lessons cancelled without 24 hours' notice will be charged regular fees.
