Class Attire
The Conservatory works with professional dancewear suppliers and pointe shoe fitters to offer dancers polished, high-quality shoes and attire for classroom wear and performance. Dancers may also participate in teamwear order programs for Conservatory gear each term.
We are committed to making dance attire accessible to all dancers. We maintain a Cinderella Box full of new and gently worn dance shoes in a range of sizes for dancers to borrow without cost. We also have a Cinderella Closet (lovingly nicknamed The Bibbidi Bobbity Boutique or Leotard Lending Library) to offer new or gently worn leotards, tights, shorts, wraps, leggings, etc. to any dancer to borrow without cost. We gratefully accept all donations of dance attire.
The Conservatory is delighted to loan dancers attire that coordinates with their uniform choice for use in public presentations and workshops. For dancers who prefer leotards, we provide coordinating skirts for junior, intermediate, senior and adult levels. For dancers who prefer leggings/shorts, we provide white, embroidered Conservatory logo, short-sleeved shirts.
NOTE: Dancers are free to choose the class attire options that correspond with their comfort, safety and religious/racial/cultural and/or gender expression and identification needs.
For all classes, hair is to be worn secured and neatly off the face and neck, so that hair cannot get caught, hit other dancers, obstruct the dancer's sight or obstruct lines of the upper body.
